Facet Publishing, a publisher of books for the library and information profession, owned by CILIP (the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals), has published its first e-book, 'Digital Copyright'.
According to the company, 'Digital Copyright' is not a .pdf of a conventional book, as it is searchable, optimised for viewing and using on screen, and contains weblinks to relevant resources. In addition, it can also be cross-referenced between chapters and sections, and has customisable sample forms in Word format.
The e-book reportedly covers such topics as database rights; the application of copyright to websites and intranets; the use of screenshots in presentations; the interface between copyright law and contract law; the Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003; and digital signatures.
The publisher reportedly offers two basic licences - single user (GBP34.95 plus VAT) and single site (GBP174.95 plus VAT).
