COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS -- A woman who crashed her car into a home, causing a gas leak and evacuations in Cottonwood Heights Friday night, is now in jail.

Police have not yet released her name but say she was driving drunk Christmas Eve when she and her passenger got into a fight near 7700 South and 2700 East.

They say she lost control around a corner, hit a van in a driveway, then hit a gas meter and a house.

The broken meter began gushing natural gas, causing the evacuation of 10 homes.

Questar gas called out a full crew to fix the line so the residents could be in their homes for Christmas.

Police later arrested the woman and her passengers on several charges.
