Gene Kennedy Reporting Summer break is here, and that means most parents have to find ways to entertain their kids for the next three months. If daughters need a break from mom and dad, we've got a place just for them.

Our summer camp series continues on Eyewitness News. We visited a Girl Scout camp, which isn't exclusive to Girl Scouts. This is a camp that offers many unique features.

First off, it's location. This is Trefoil Ranch in Provo Canyon. It's set back deep in the hills of Utah County with some amazing views. It's an all-girls overnight, week-long camp.

Cooking, making art, building science projects, and horseback riding are how the girls will spend the week.

Camp Director K'Leena Murphy says, "The unique thing about this camp is that we don't just focus on the outdoors. It's a big focus to get them to have outdoor skills, but the big thing is to make them more self-sufficient girls, and grow strong women and future leaders here in Utah."

A camper called "Horsey Lady" says, "It (becoming self-reliant) helps you get over not being with your mom so much, and your brothers and sisters."

The camp accepts girls ages 7 through 18, and most camps are under $300 for the week. It's one of the most affordable options we found.

Trefoil Ranch has been around for nearly 61 years. What's amazing is that the camp was funded mostly from the sales of Girl Scout cookies.

The Girls Scouts run another camp near Park City, called Camp Cloud Rim.
