SALT LAKE CITY -- Police are hoping an autopsy can point them in the right direction as to how a woman was killed at Fairmont Park over the weekend and who might be responsible.
Investigators spent all weekend searching the park for any clues as to who killed Kristine Gabel, 45, and left her in a park bathroom at 2225 S. 1040 East.
"Yesterday (the medical examiner) completed the autopsy and we are now moving forward with that information and continuing the investigation into this homicide," said police Sgt. Shawn Josephson.
What police found, they aren't saying just yet. It will also take several weeks for toxicology reports to come back. Josephson said police still hope someone who saw something will call them.
"Rewards are available and we definitely need the public's help," said Josephson.
Police said the killer likely has scratches, cuts, or bruises consistent with an assault that likely took place just before Gabel died.
