DALLAS -- Utah families of fallen U.S. heroes flew to Texas Thursday for a special gathering in their honor.
For the past five years, American Airlines and American Eagle have worked together to create the Snowball Express. They flew 1,300 family members and surviving children of fallen troops to Dallas/Fort Worth for an all expenses paid vacation.
The trip gives children from around the country a chance to meet others children who have lived through the same difficult experience.
Courtney Wallace, with American Airlines, said "A lot of these kids have met before. They've been on a lot of these trips since 2005. So, it's really great to see them reconnect with old friends, and the excitement they have about coming together."
In Dallas, they'll see a Dallas Cowboy's football game, a Maverick's basketball game, and go out for group dinners.
