PROVO, Utah (AP) -- The Utah Department of Transportation has picked a new name for one of Utah County's east-west corridors -- Timpanogos Highway.
UDOT says State Route 92 from Lehi to Highland will be known as Timpanogos Highway after the roadway is rebuilt and widened.
The highway will keep its number route and have five regular lanes for each direction plus two commuter lanes.
A UDOT website says a panel of judges chose from more than 400 nominations. Most played off the name of nearby Timpanogos, the second highest peak in Utah's Wasatch Range at more than 11,700 feet in elevation.
Two construction firms -- Flatiron and Harper -- are expected to finish rebuilding State Route 92 by next fall.
