LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Northern Utah's Beaver Mountain Ski Area is set to open on Friday.

The Logan Herald Journal reports that resort owner Ted Seeholzer says it will be the facility's earliest opening in several years. Last year, the resort didn't open until mid-December.

Most of Utah's other ski resorts are already open. Brighton was the first, on Nov. 11, followed by Solitude, Alta, Brian Head and Park City. Snowbasin, Powder Mountain and Wolf Mountain are also open.

Sundance and Deer Valley have announced Saturday openings and The Canyons plan to open Dec. 10.

Utah's newest resort, Eagle Point in Beaver, is slated for a Dec. 15 opening.
