SALT LAKE CITY -- For the third year in a row the mayors of Salt Lake City and Provo have renewed their wager on the rivalry football game between the University of Utah and BYU.

BYU/Utah foodbank rivalry returns

Mayors Ralph Becker and John Curtis are urging fans to donate food to the Utah Foodbank over the next ten days before the big rivalry game.

The losing mayor will ride a bicycle 50 miles between the cities in the spring.

"This is a great tradition," said Mayor Becker. " I'm glad we are able to turn this rivalry into something that does so much for so many."

Last year, Mayor Becker won, but both teams raised over 150,000 pounds in donations and over $55,000 dollars for the foodbank.
