FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) -- A 27-year-old West Jordan man waived an evidentiary hearing and was bound over for trial in Utah state court in the slaying of a 39-year-old woman found dead in her Bountiful apartment.

The Standard-Examiner reports that Second District Court Judge David Connors on Wednesday set arraignment Thursday for Chad Mecham before Judge Thomas Kay in 2nd District Court in Farmington.

Mecham is accused of strangling or suffocating Tina Wilson on Sept. 29, taping her hands and head, and covering her body with a mattress.

Authorities allege Mecham stole Wilson's phone and car, and called her work to report she was out sick.

He was arrested when he was found sleeping in Wilson's car Oct. 5 in West Valley City.

Court documents say investigators found DNA matching Mecham under Wilson's fingernails.
