SALT LAKE CITY - A Salt Lake City man was found beaten in a restaurant parking lot early Monday morning.
Police found Cable Patrick Thompson severely beaten in the IHOP restaurant parking lot at 307 W. 2100 South. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Gary Keller, with the South Salt Lake Police Department, said, "We have a 24-year-old victim that paid his bill, walked out of the restaurant and was assaulted in the parking lot shortly after."

Police would like to hear from the group that checked out right after he did to learn what they saw in the parking lot.
Police arrested Jose Fimiano Moya, 30, in connection with the assault.
