What happens when a couple of semi-slackers who work in a rail yard cut corners and don't follow protocol, all while hurriedly moving a huge freight train? Well, you get a runaway behemoth careening through cities and countryside laden with real nasty chemicals that appears to be "Unstoppable."

Denzel Washington stars as Frank, a veteran engineer who has been paired with a rookie conductor, Will (Chris Pine) for a routine freight run. As luck would have it, they end up on a head-to-head-collision course with the runaway, which is picking up speed and becoming more dangerous by the minute.

Rosario Dawson stars as Connie, a dispatcher for the railroad who feeds information to the boys as they all try to avoid the proverbial train wreck. Of course, those on the front lines are shocked at the instructions that come down from corporate that seem only to be watching out for the bottom line rather than all the lives that are on the line.

After everything has been tried, including derailment of the runaway, Frank comes up with a plan that just might save the day as the train heads for a notorious turn in a heavily populated area that will certainly trigger an epic disaster. "Unstoppable" is a classic nail-biter that keeps you on the edge of your seat every minute. What's amazing about this film is the way back stories of the major characters are woven into all of the action, making the characters more relatable without detracting in the least from the tension.

Denzel is great, Dawson is the perfect link that ties this all together, and Chris Pine finally has a role where he can act and he delivers.

This is the perfect popcorn movie -- entertaining and riveting. "Unstoppable" gets three stars and it is rated PG-13.
