OGDEN -- Ogden City has a new way to honor its veterans. City leaders erected a 30-foot tall tower in front of the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Nursing Home Monday afternoon.
Before the tower arrived in Ogden, it made a cross-country trip from Cincinnati, Ohio, escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders.
"This is one of only three in the United States, and we're honored to have it here," said Terry Schow, executive director of the Utah Department of Veterans Affairs.
The 250-pound bell in the tower will chime on the hour, every hour, and play patriotic tunes.
