SALT LAKE COUNTY -- In the race for Salt Lake County Sheriff, Democrat incumbent Jim Winder is projected to defeat Beau Babka.

With 9 percent of the precincts reporting, Winder leads with 59 percent of the votes.

He said, "We're excited for the next four years to get back to the business of running the Salt Lake County Sherriff's office and the Unified Police department."
