Sandra Yi ReportingA multi-agency search for three armed robbery suspects is finally over. The suspects were wanted for robbing a Midvale business this morning. Two of them took off running after a police chase.

It all ended about three miles up Parley's Canyon off a ranch exit. The terrain in the search area is very challenging, but police did find all three suspects.
It didn't take long for police to arrest the first two suspects. The third was finally caught in a culvert about 2:30 p.m. The SWAT team brought out 20-year old Fernando Ruelas in handcuffs. They found him hunkered down in about a foot of water, about 50 meters inside the culvert. It took them about 20 minutes to walk the distance from the entrance of the culvert to where Ruelas was hiding. Police say fresh footprints gave his hiding spot away.
Police say Ruelas and two other suspects are believed to have been involved in an robbery this morning in Midvale. Two armed men walked into Lstar Telecom, a company that wires ATMs.

Police put out an “Attempt to Locate” on the suspect car. Utah Highway Patrol Troopers spotted the suspect car, and attempted to stop the vehicle as it moved eastbound on I-80 in Parley's Canyon. A short chase ensued when the car would not pull over.
That driver 53-year old Steven Gutcheon got off near Mountain Dell Reservoir and parked his car. He surrendered. The two other men took off running. Police later arrested Johnny Montoya hiding in some bushes.
Sgt. Chief John Salazar, Midvale Police Dept.: "Our investigators are interviewing all suspects right now. They've interviewed the first two suspects earlier today. What they're getting is that they were asked to commit these crimes by the gentleman that was driving the black BMW."
Police say the two passengers were from out of state and only recently came to Utah. They are investigating if the three are connected to any other robberies in the Midvale area. They did find thousands of dollars in cash on one suspect, but no weapons have been recovered.
Police say at least one suspect may have a criminal past. Steven Gutcheon had a court appearance scheduled in Summit County today for stalking.
**Earlier**Sandra Yi reporting
Police from five agencies are looking for a robbery suspect in the mountains surrounding Mountain Dell Reservoir area.
The suspect on the run is 22-year-old black male with a shaved head. Police say his first name is Raymond.
Around 9:30 Monday morning, two suspects entered Lstar Telecom, a Midvale business that wires ATM’s. Police say the suspect walked in with guns, and robbed the clerk.
Police put out an “Attempt to Locate” on the car. Utah Highway Patrol Troopers spotted the suspect car, and attempted to stop the vehicle as it moved eastbound on I-80 in Parley's Canyon. A short chase ensued when the car would not pull over.

The suspects took Exit 133, a ranch exit that ended in a dead end near Mountain Dell Reservoir. The suspects ditched their car and took off running into the hills.
Two of the suspect were detained around 11 am.. Police consider the remaining suspect armed and dangerous.
Sgt. John Salazar, Midvale Police Dept.: “We know they are armed, and we know they are dangerous. Anytime you point a loaded weapon and rob somebody, you’re a dangerous man. It just so happened that all the agencies got involved in this. We will find this guy.”

Police dogs, a helicopter, as well as SWAT teams are aiding in the search. They say the missing suspect is not dressed for the weather conditions.
Jeffery Nigbur, Utah Highway Patrol: “There are a lot of shrubs, a lot of trees and different things to hid in. From what I understand, there is a shed up there that has probably been checked. Obviously it is on a very steep incline, so it is a very difficult area to check.”

Several employees of a water treatment plant in the area were in a lockdown for a time. They have now been evacuated from the area.
