HANOI, Nov 21 (AFP) - World renowned American jazz musicians including pianist Herbie Hancock and saxophonist Wayne Shorter will visit Vietnam from Tuesday as part of events marking 10 years of normal ties between the two countries, the US embassy said.

Other musicians on the tour include vocalists Nnenna Freelon and Gina Saputo and saxophonists Walter Smith and Tim Green.

Besides performing in the southern economic hub, Ho Chi Minh City, and in the capital, Hanoi, later this week and the next, they will also hold master classes for music students in the two cities.

Vietnam and the United States marked the 10th anniversary of the normalisation of relations in July, a month after Prime Minister Phan Van Khai became the first Vietnamese government leader to visit the White House since the Vietnam War ended in 1975.
