Dusting.

I remember dusting was the chore I actually kind of liked doing as a small child. For some reason it was kind of fun using the spray can on the desks and tables. Then watching the dust disappear with one wipe of a rag.

Unfortunately the term dusting means something different to some kids today. I did a story talking about kids using computer dusting spray cans to get high.

Apparently some kids spray this stuff, which contains Freon, down their throats because it makes them feel funny. The health official I spoke to said they feel funny because they aren’t getting oxygen to their heart and brain.

Yikes!

The health official also said doing this just once can kill a person. I’m definitely not trying to make everyone freak out, but I would be having a serious talk with my kid if I found out they were hiding computer dusting spray cans in their room.

A little extra info. The health official surveys school kids and says 6th through 8th graders are the age range that try this kind of stuff the most.
