Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Jeff Nigbur says the pickup was eastbound on State Road 56 last night when the driver swerved to miss a deer and lost control of the vehicle.
Nigbur says the pickup then collided with a Buick, killing the driver of the Buick and critically injuring a passenger in the vehicle.
The driver of the pickup was not injured. So far, the names of the people involved in the collision have not been released.
