OREM -- A woman who started a weight loss center in Orem wins this week's High 5 for being an example of living healthy and loving people.
Leslie Cranmer opened ABSolute five years ago. Co-worker Rachel Ortega nominated her for a High 5.
"We are just so proud of her," Rachel said. "I've known her for six years and she helped me lose 50 pounds. She, herself has lost almost 90 (pounds) and she has helped so many people in the community."
Rachel says Leslie is different from many other dieticians and trainers.
"She loves the people. It's all about people and what they do and what she can do," she said.
"She loves watching the change in their lives," Rachel continued. "She loves watching them come in week after week and see them change. When they're at the point where they're at tears because they've lost the weight, and they feel good about themselves, that's what it's all about."
Leslie said, "I get to be with them every step of the way. I get to see the light turn on in their eyes and I get to see them feel good about themselves again. It's just the most warming feeling in the world."
Rachel also credits her co-workers. "They are all my right arms, so it's not about me. I couldn't do it without them. This wouldn't be a business if I didn't have them," she said.
In the five years since the center opened, everyone on the staff and hundreds of other people have lost weight with Leslie's support. The Daily Herald even named ABSolute the second best weight loss center in Utah County.
