PROVO, Utah (AP) -- BYU defensive tackle Romney Fuga is out for the season with a knee injury.

The Cougars say Fuga will need surgery to repair two ligaments from an injury that happened Saturday in BYU's home loss to Nevada.

Fuga started all four games this year and had 15 tackles.

Coach Bronco Mendenhall says the injury leaves BYU with just six defensive linemen, so freshman defensive end Graham Rowley is likely to join the rotation rather than redshirt this season as planned.
