WEST VALLEY CITY -- Hundreds of Utah women gathered Tuesday to learn the basics of getting into the competitive workforce.
As part of Zions Bank's Women in Business Program, the inaugural "Stylin' N Successful Women's Expo" was held at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center in West Valley City Tuesday. The conference was aimed at women re-entering the workforce or working for the first time, as well as those looking to further their skills.
Workshops covered everything from public speaking to etiquette to dressing professionally on a budget.
"With this economy, this is very helpful to boost the morale of women's self-esteem, that I can go out and get a job, I can do many things that I thought I couldn't," said event organizer Toukata Suyoto.
About 300 women attended; organizers say that was more than expected.
