MANDERFIELD, Beaver County -- A wildfire in central Utah once again shut down I-70 on Sunday as wind gusts up to 50 mph fanned the flames.

The Twitchell Canyon fire in Fishlake National Forest, sparked by lightning in late July, had grown to almost 23,000 acres by Saturday night and continued to spread on Sunday, officials said. No structures are immediately threatened.

Reduced visibility from smoke closed I-70 in both directions Sunday between I-15 and Joseph, 23 miles to the northeast. There were 505 firefighters from at least four states working to contain the blaze.
