Running several businesses all at once is old hat for Bill England. He has 40 years of experience in the business world and has spent a good portion of that time running multiple companies simultaneously.
Bill's latest endeavor is Bear Lake Enterprises in Garden City, which comprises three companies: Bear Trapper Steak House, Bear Lake Pizza Company and the Chocolate Bear. Bear Lake Enterprises started when Bill purchased Bear Lake Pizza Company, an existing pizzeria, eight years ago.
The England family all worked together to spruce up Bear Lake Pizza Company - moving walls, installing new carpet, adding tables, chairs and outdoor seating. In the last few years, Bill has also added games and rides for children and increased the menu selection.
Bill is proud of their selection of pizzas, which includes both traditional pizzas like pepperoni and Hawaiian and specialty pizzas like barbecue chicken, alfredo and chicken bacon ranch. Bear Lake Pizza Company also offers fresh-made garlic bread with all pizza and salad orders. The pizzeria is most known for its 28-inch "Old Ephraim" pizza that feeds up to 10 people and weighs 10 pounds.
Bear Lake Pizza Company has been so successful that six years ago Bill built a steak house at the same site as the pizzeria, which became Bear Trapper Steak House. Open for dinner Monday through Saturday, it serves steak, seafood and chicken with a separate children's menu available. Bill then opened the Chocolate Bear, a sweet shop that sells hand-dipped chocolates, various pastries and jams that can be sold wholesale.
Bill says all three of his businesses are known for using fresh ingredients to make the best possible product. The key to maintaining Bear Lake Enterprises' success is being adaptable to change and offering friendly and courteous service.
