BEIJING, Oct 28, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Axel Springer, Germany's biggest publishing house, revealed recently that it plans to cooperate with Chinese partners to build a network platform serving as a library of China's professional publications related to mainly natural science, and other fields like electronics, material management, pharmaceutical, as well as history, law, psychology and economics.

According to a senior director from Axel Springer, through the platform, visitors can download all the publications in PDF format to their PCs, or they can ask mail orders for their interested articles after registration.

From 2006, all of these publications will be available by online payment, while this was barely imaginable before because of the language barriers .

Axel Springer's two Chinese partners will be renowned Science Press and Higher Education Press.

In addition, the German director also expressed that as China has become an economic power in the world and has also made many world-leading achievements academically, many western researchers were hoping to learn about what their Chinese counterparts were doing in the lab.

However, it was lack of access for them to get such knowledge even till now, which was just a blank that Axel Springer wanted to get involved in, added the director.
