BOX ELDER COUNTY -- A teenage girl was killed in a crash near Elwood Saturday.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the girl was riding in an Oldsmobile Alero with four other people on 8000 North around 3:30 p.m. when the driver ran a stop sign at the intersection with state Route 13. The driver of a Chevy Silverado was headed north on SR-13 and slammed into the passenger side of the Alero.
Troopers say the Alero veered off the road and came to a stop in a field next to the intersection. The Silverado rolled onto its side.
None of the people in the Alero was wearing a seat belt. The girl was killed, while two other passengers were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The remaining two passengers suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Silverado was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries as well.
