ST. GEORGE -- Three people are in jail in connection with what police call a gang-related shooting in St. George.

The St. George Police Department says it happened around 1:30 Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police two of the suspects, 18-year-old Vincent Garibay and 23-year-old Joe Martinez, were arguing with three men at a house on the 2600 East block of 610 North. Police say the suspects fired multiple gunshots at the three men from across the street, hitting one of them.

The victims drove to Mesquite, Nev., to go to the hospital. They told police that the shooting happened in Mesquite, but investigators determined it actually happened in St. George and notified police there.

St. George police then recovered a weapon and arrested three suspects.

  • Vincent Garibay was booked into jail on three counts of aggravated assault and attempted murder. His bail has been set at $60,000.
  • Joe Martinez was booked into jail on three counts of aggravated assault. His bail was set at $30,000.
  • Angela Martinez also was arrested and booked into jail on obstruction of justice. Her bail was set at $5,000.

The man who was injured is in stable condition.
