SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake County officials want to learn more about why people decide to drink and drive.
According to the Deseret News, the county is currently conducting an anonymous online survey, asking people who may have gotten behind the wheel while intoxicated to explain why they made that choice.
Postcards advertising the survey will be placed in liquor stores, bars and clubs throughout Salt Lake County.
Officials are hoping to use the results of the survey to create a new DUI prevention campaign. The results will be released this fall.
Salt Lake County has the highest number of alcohol-related vehicle crashes each year. The paper reports the top cities for DUIs are Salt Lake City, West Valley City and South Salt Lake.
