SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Pioneer Theatre Company has found a location to house guest artists.
The company is buying University House near its theater on the University of Utah campus. Plans are to renovate the building with local developer Cowboy Partners.
The professional theater has been searching for a place for the past decade by keeping tabs on properties within a half-mile of the theater building.
The theater will own the second, third and fourth floors of the building built in 1890. They'll be turned into 20 apartments for the guest artists along with an apartment for a building manager.
Cowboy Partners will own the retail sites on the first floor.
The renovation is expected to start this summer and should be done by June 2011. Each year, the theater houses about 120 guest artists.
