(KSL News) A hiker who disappeared in southern Utah then turned up in Australia is back in Utah.
Bryan Butas was booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane. He's facing felony insurance fraud charges.
Hundreds of volunteers searched for Butas when he didn't return from a hike outside of Leeds in August. Investigators tracked him to Australia. They say Butas tried to fake a disappearance so his children would get a 250-thousand dollar life insurance policy.
