OGDEN -- Fire officials say several recent fires along the Ogden River Parkway most likely were intentionally started. All five of the fires occurred in grass near or along the parkway within a week.
The most recent fire happened Sunday afternoon near 2536 D Avenue. It burned 17 acres and threatened four homes before crews extinguished it.
Ogden Fire Battalion Chief Corey Barton tells the Deseret News the department is asking people living near the parkway to be on the lookout for anything suspicious and for people setting off fireworks illegally in the area.
