(KSL News) A late night party in Midvale leads to an early morning stabbing.

It happened at 7940 S. Main Street.

Argument at Party Leads to Stabbing

Two guys at the party got into an argument. Then one of them pulled out a small knife and stabbed the other man just below the rib cage.

The suspect took off. The 32-year-old victim tried to make it back to his apartment, but instead collapsed in the hallway. He was found several hours later by a friend.

Sgt. Marcelo Rapela of the Midvale Police Department said, "He tried to help him tend to his wound. After about a half-hour to an hour he realized he wasn't getting any better and decided to call 911. The paramedics responded, and they Life-Flighted him to LDS Hospital."

The victim had lost a significant amount of blood and was not conscious when transported.

Police say the victim met the suspect in the last day or two. Police are trying to get more information on the suspect.

Police also hope to talk to the victim once he's conscious.
