SALT LAKE CITY -- Police raided a home in Salt Lake City early Saturday and arrested two men in connection with a shooting in St. George earlier this week.

Officer Johnny Heppler of the St. George Police Department says at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a call of gunshots in the 1000 East block of 740 North in St. George. Someone had fired several shots at a woman inside a vehicle, hitting her in the shoulder. She is in stable condition at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

Investigators identified two suspects -- 37-year-old Mariano Anguiano and 27-year-old Francisco Anguiano.

A SWAT team executed a search warrant early Friday morning at a residence where the suspects were known to stay on the 400 East block of Pennes Place in Washington City.

Officers did not find the men but did discover evidence of drug distribution. They arrested a juvenile male on drug related charges. Police also learned the two suspects likely were staying at a home on the 1400 West block of 900 South in Salt Lake City.

Detectives from several agencies showed up there early Saturday morning and arrested the two. Officials are working to extradite Mariano and Francisco to Washington County to face charges related to the shooting. Police say both men are well-known gang members with a history of crime in the St. George area.
