Michelle Brown has extensive experience with coaching cheerleaders. For the past eight years she has coached high school and collegiate levels as well as in a studio setting. She discovered early on that she had a talent for connecting with the girls she coached. Some girls expressed disappointment that they would get too old for Michelle's classes and coaching. This helped her decide to start her own cheer and dance studio in 2009.
Ace All-Star Cheer and Dance offers cheerleading, dance and tumbling classes. Michelle says the type of cheerleading she teaches is competitive, so it involves lots of jumps, stunts and tumbling. Dance classes cover lyrical, hip-hop and jazz, and she offers mini-ballet for younger dancers. An independent tumbling class teaches participants all aspects of tumbling.
Cheerleading and tumbling have been her most popular classes. Michelle's husband, Erik, who helps operate the studio, says Ace All-Star is helping spread awareness of the competitive cheerleading world and is teaching its young clients what a great sport cheerleading can be. Since its launch, Ace All-Star Cheer and Dance has grown from one to four cheerleading teams that range in age from 3 up to 18.
The company has been successful enough that Michelle recently moved from the gymnastics studio where she was previously teaching into a new facility in Bluffdale. The center has all the equipment needed for cheerleading, including spring floors to protect the teams as they practice. Cheerleading can be dangerous if proper safety equipment is not used.
Erik says Michelle hopes to grow Ace All-Star Cheer and Dance to five teams and, eventually, to move into a location with multiple spring floors where she can offer even more classes. After an extensive market analysis, Erik says Ace All-Star's tuition is one of the most affordable around. This is helping draw an even wider range of clients.
