WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) -- A 65-year-old man has died after police said his nephew pushed him down a flight of stairs in West Valley City.
Police say Joseph Hewitt was pronounced dead Friday, a day after he was rushed to a hospital following a fight.
The nephew, 32-year-old Kenneth Tupea, was booked into jail for investigation of attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
Police say further charges will depend on autopsy results.
Tupea was called to a home to help Hewitt and another uncle move out. Tupea is accused of pushing Hewitt down the stairs after the three got in a fight.
According to court records, Tupea has a long criminal record, including multiple assault convictions.
