PHOENIX, Sep 29, 2005 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Supermodel Kate Moss has reportedly checked into a Phoenix celebrity treatment center amid cocaine abuse allegations, it was reported Thursday.

Moss, 31, is spending a month at the $4,000-a-night Meadows Clinic for "medical treatment and therapy," friends told the Times of London.

A London police investigation has been launched into Moss' alleged drug activities, the newspaper said.

The Daily Mirror set off the firestorm when it published photos of Moss putting down lines and snorting cocaine in a London studio where guitarist/boyfriend Pete Doherty was laying down tracks. She had previously charged the tabloid with libel for claiming she had a coke problem.

Last week, Moss issued a statement apologizing for her "actions" and said she knew she had "personal issues" she needed to address.

Moss has reportedly broken up Doherty, a heroin addict in frequent clashes with the law, the Times said.

Moss has lost several modeling contracts as a result of the drug scandal.
