COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS -- A 5-year-old boy is in serious condition after he was hit by a car.

Police say the boy darted into the road from between two parked cars near 2100 East and 6700 South around 8 p.m. Sunday. He was immediately hit by a car.

He was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center with several broken bones.

Police say they don't know yet if the driver will face charges. Investigators say it does not appear speed or alcohol were factors.
