WEST VALLEY CITY -- A neighbor who tried to stop a fight near his home ended up in the middle of it late Saturday night.
Police say a group of five to six people approached three men near 4100 South and 4080 West around 1 a.m. and a fight broke out. A neighbor came out to break it up, but someone hit him in the head with a pipe.
Police say the neighbor went back into his house, grabbed a knife and stabbed one of the other men involved in the fight.
That man was taken to the hospital, but has since been released.
The neighbor and another man who was also hit by the pipe were taken to the hospital with head injuries. The second man had to undergo surgery Sunday.
Police are looking for the man who attacked the other two with the pipe.
