ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Dixie State College's Board of Trustees will meet tomorrow to try to find a way to stop enrollment at the school from declining.

About half of all new students there drop out or take a break after only a year in school.

Utah's commissioner of higher education, Richard Kendell, says that trend has to stop if Washington County wants its economy to remain strong. The percentage of Washington County residents between 25 and 34 years old who have a college degree has dropped from 17-point-four percent to 16-point-seven percent in the past five years.
