DAVIS COUNTY -- The Davis School District has a group of teachers who not only are sisters, but they also do some singing on the side.
The Dahl Sisters recently performed an impromptu concert at a retirement party. They sing at church, community and family events, and they are all teachers. Shirley Guy says they sing and play guitar with their students every day.

"They can remember a lot of things when it's set to music," says Guy. "It just makes a happy learning environment when we start the day with a song."
Guy teaches first grade at West Point Elementary. Two of her other sisters teach in the same school district, the fourth teaches nursing at Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College.
"We love to get together and sing. We spend a lot of time just laughing and giggling and playing before practice," Guy says.
The sisters go by their maiden name, and they have a history of music in their family. Their father sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Guy also says the women sometimes let their two brothers sing along with them. She stresses that they are amateurs with a love of singing.
Their last performance was actually for Mrs. Guy's retirement party. She may be done teaching but she's not done singing.
