SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- An investigation is underway today after a small, single-engine plane had to make an emergency landing.
It happened yesterday on a sand bar in the Great Salt Lake, just northwest of Lake Point.
Authorities say the 69-year-old pilot reportedly experienced engine trouble and had to make an emergency landing.
Tooele County Emergency Management Wade Mathews say it's believed the pilot and his passenger were traveling from Salt Lake City to Wendover.
The Federal Aviation Administration arrived on the scene yesterday, and is conducting an investigation.
