(KSL News) -- The women's organization of the LDS Church has new leadership today.

Julie B. Beck, who has been serving in the church's Young Women Presidency, is the new President of the Relief Society. Silvia H. Allred and Barbara Thompson will serve as her counselors.

Sister Beck says her goal is to help strengthen the women of the church.

Julie Beck said, "In this day and age when they are being attacked on every side, not just their identity, it is a difficult world for people who want to live a dignified, moral, Christ-like life."

Mary N. Cook was called to fill the vacancy in the Young Women's organization.

The Church also added five members of the First Quorum of Seventy and sustained 46 new Area Seventies.
