SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A "flood watch" has been issued for parts of Cache and Weber counties and the upper Santa Clara River in southwestern Utah.
The watch was issued because of recent spring snowmelt and expected rain showers this week.
The watch could continue as meteorologists are forecasting a 60-percent chance of rain for northern Utah through Saturday. A similar forecast was issued for southern Utah.
The National Weather Service says stream flooding could occur if thunderstorms release large amounts of rain in a short period of time.
The National Weather Service also says, after a break on Sunday, a second storm is expected. However, the NWS says it's too early to tell how big the storm will be or what affect it will have on the state.
Last week, several inches of rain saturated Cache and Box Elder county, causing Logan, Blacksmith Fork and Little Bear rivers to spill over their banks.
