SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The mother of Lori Hacking will present a scholarship in her name to the University of Utah's business school tomorrow.
Thelma Soares will present the check to the school at 11 a.m. The money will go to fund a memorial scholarship in honor of her 27-year-old daughter, who disappeared July 19 and is presumed dead. Her husband, Mark Hacking, is in jail charged with her murder.
The scholarship will be awarded each year to a student who's a junior at the University of Utah with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student should have taken a course at the David Eccles School of Business before their junior year and demonstrate financial need.
Lori Hacking graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in management.
