(Baghdad, Iraq-AP) -- The Roman Catholic bishop of the armed forces has performed Christmas Midnight Mass for U-S troops in Baghdad.
Archbishop Edwin O'Brien said that in Iraq, American soldiers are fulfilling God's mission to "break the yoke of the tyrant" and "spread the grace and good that God has given us."
O'Brien asked the troops, "Would you be here for any other reason?"
Before departing for Christmas services in other parts of Iraq, O'Brien challenged the assembled troops to see Jesus in the suffering people of Iraq and minister to their needs.
