SALT LAKE CITY -- Supporters of a more bicycle-friendly Salt Lake City gathered Friday for the Utah Bike Summit.
The event was planned to talk about a variety of issues facing cyclists, including making better roads with bicycle lanes, better transit that accommodates cycling and to talk about the economic benefits of riding bikes.
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker said, "Cycling, to me, is much more than about a way to get around. It's integral to me to having a high-quality community."
Becker also told the group if cycling grows in Utah, it will have a huge impact on air quality and our carbon footprint.
