(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Elizabeth Smart is --quote-- "a little distracted" but continues to acclimate to life back home. She's been overwhelmed by the volume of cards and flowers pouring in from well-wishers.

Chris Thomas, a Smart family spokesman, says the 15-year-old girl spent yesterday talking with investigators and entertaining her best friend from California.

As for reports she may have been taken as a "wife" by Brian Mitchell, the religious fanatic accused of kidnapping her, Thomas says Elizabeth did what she had to do in this situation. Had she not, he says, the outcome would be completely different.

With questions mounting about Smart's ordeal, investigators may have to grill the teen about details of her captivity -- including any allegations of sexual abuse or assault.
