The Seattle Times reported Wednesday that Elizabeth Smart's kidnapping "was a religious thing," according to investigators who talked to suspect Brian David Mitchell.
"Investigators said the bearded drifter... told them he wanted the girl to become his second wife. 'This guy just wanted another wife, and God told him this was the one,' the Times reports.
