SALT LAKE CITY -- As a parent, when do you think your child is ready to have a TV in his room? If you ask 100 people, you may get 100 different opinions as to what the right age is.
Some people say children should never have a TV in their room. One man says he wouldn't let his children have one until they reach legal adulthood. He says, "If you look at what's on after 10:00, I don't know if I want my kids watching that."
Others say as long as parents monitor what their children watch, any age is fine.
One father said his children were, "probably a little bit younger, maybe about six or seven before they actually had a TV in their room."
Another man said, "I had a TV in my room when I was six and I turned out just fine."
But others say children should be in their late teens before they get a set.
One woman said, "They're not fully matured but not immature."
She believes 12- and 13-year-old children may be too young for shows like Grey's Anatomy, with their McDreamies and McSteamies running around.
