Republicans may not be trying so hard this year for a Utah congressional seat.
Bill Dew's campaign is basically telling the National Republican Congressional Committee to not write off Utah's 2nd District seat because it's prime for an upset.
But the chair of that committee tells the Salt Lake Tribune no, this race is not high on its priority list this year. The GOP isn't really looking to go on the offensive with the Democratic tide rising. Instead, it's hoping to hold onto the seats it does have.
The NRCC has made it a tradition to pump money into the 2nd District race, starting with $1 million in 2000.
