Salt Lake County will again take up the issue of benefits for domestic partners.
The proposal, by Councilwoman Jenny Wilson, would grant health benefits to domestic partners and live-in adults. It has failed along part line votes three times in years past. The Salt Lake County Council now leans democratic, so some say the proposal may have a better chance of passing this time.
Opponents have felt the proposal is intertwined with the gay marriage issue. Proponents say it's not just about gay couples.
The proposal is on the agenda for this afternoon's council meeting. It's unclear if the council actually will vote on it today.
