MILLCREEK -- Criminal charges will not be filed in connection with a crash between a car and a TRAX train that left two people dead.
Police have released video of a fatal accident, in which a car tried to beat a TRAX train.
Surveillance video from March 11 shows a car approach crossing arms near 4100 South and 200 West in Salt Lake County. Instead of waiting, the car goes around the flashing lights and collides with a train.
Two people in the car died, and two more went to the hospital with serious injuries.
"We're just hoping, and the families are hoping, that this will just be a reminder that you have to be cautious at these intersections," says Unified police Lt. Don Hutson.
Police say they are not looking at any criminal charges in the accident, and call it a "tragic event"
No one onboard the TRAX train was injured, even though the train was going full speed.
